Facebook Painter Application

Hello..

First and foremost, I'm sorry for a little bit late on posting this article. On 26 April 2011, Painter Application had launched officially on Facebook. It looks similar to Facebook Graffiti Application where functioned as online drawing widget. Basically, Painter are created as drawing widget that integrated with Smallworlds.Com(Virtual World) which citizens/player can paint any artwork in Smallworld and post it on Painter Gallery @Facebook. Every single art on Smallworlds automatically save on Facebook Painter Gallery where FB user can browse artist collection gallery. Painter can be used to send any artist art to other FB user although they not have Smallworlds account. On the other side, all gifted art to FB user which have Smallworlds account can be transfer into virtual board in their gallery (in Smallworlds)

One of the best features of Painter is that now you can create your paintings either in SmallWorlds or in Facebook.
If you don't have a Facebook account you can still paint in SmallWorlds as you've always done, but to take advantage of all the amazing features now available in Painter I recommend you link your SmallWorlds account to Facebook.  Any paintings you gift (to yourself or someone else) will be available in both places and displayed in a public gallery in Facebook.  You can even gift a painting to a Facebook friend who can then display it on a Graffiti Canvas in SmallWorlds.
Painter also lets you show your favorite artists how much you admire their paintings.  Click the love heart icon in the Facebook Painter Gallery or by going into the painting on SmallWorlds to rate up a painting.  You can see the most-loved paintings in the Popular Public Gallery in Facebook.

Using Painter

The way you paint pictures in Painter is exactly the same both in Facebook and on a Graffiti Canvas in SmallWorlds.  Getting started is as easy as 1-2-3:

1. Choose your Brush Size and Shape

Click the paintbrush icon to bring up the Brush Panel.  This is where you choose the size and shape of brush you want to use. As you can see, there are now a wide range of brushes to choose from, and you are also now able to adjust the Softness of your brush.

2. Choose Your Brush Color

Click the paint pot icon to bring up the Color Panel.  This is where you choose the color and opacity you want to use. Hovering over the paint pot icon will also show you how many brush strokes you have left to use up for this painting.  We have increased the total number of brush strokes allowed - now you can use 2000 strokes to create your painting!  I know many artists will be very pleased with that increased limit

3. Create Your Masterpiece!

I wish I could give you instructions on just how to create an amazing painting, but that's really up to you! One thing I can tell you is that it's a lot easier now to see how the experts create their works of art, because Painter lets you 'play back' a painting to see just how it was made. It's a wonderful new feature that I'm sure will be very helpful to new artists.

Other Painting Controls
The Painter window provides tool-tips so it's easy to find out what everything does. Here is a quick overview of the other painting controls.

Seeing Which Brushes and Colors You've Used

Click the paint palette icon to bring up the History Panel.  When you use a new color or a new brush shape, the color and shape are saved in this panel. This enables you to easily re-select any of the colors or brushes you've previously used in order to use them again.

Undo/Redo

Use the Undo and Redo buttons to undo or redo your last brushstrokes.
The small round button next to the arrows will clear all your brushstrokes from the painting. You will be prompted to confirm that you want to continue before the painting is cleared.

Full Screen Mode

The small arrows at the bottom right corner of the canvas take you into Full-Screen mode so you can get a larger view of your painting. Full screen mode is only available when painting in Facebook.

Using Painter In Facebook

There are some Painter options that are only available using Painter in Facebook.  For example, in Facebook you need to select who the painting is for.  You can choose to paint for yourself or for someone else.
Here is the Painter menu bar in Facebook:

Sending Your Painting

Once you have completed your painting in Facebook, press the Send button to send it to the person you have nominated to send to (either yourself or a Facebook friend). Once sent, the painting can not be edited further. It will be available in the Galleries in Facebook to view, love and share, and the owner can also put the painting onto a Graffiti Canvas in SmallWorlds.

Galleries

One of the biggest innovations with the new Painter application is that now you can easily view a gallery of art on Facebook, and even gift your art to your Facebook friends!
When you install the Facebook Painter Application, you get to see all the art that has been painted.  You can also:
• See how many times a painting has been viewed.
• Click on the Love Heart next to a painting to tell the artist that you love their work.
• Share the painting with your friends by posting it on your wall or Tweeting the link.

• Play back the painting to see how it was created.
• See which artist painted the picture and view their other work.
• See which collector owns the picture and view other paintings they own.
• Paint your own picture to gift to either the artist or collector of the painting you've viewed.

The Playback Feature

The Painter application records every brush stroke you make, and you can replay this to see exactly how a painting was created!
Hover over a finished painting in Painter to get a Play button, and click the button to watch the painting being made.

This feature is one I am particularly excited about.  Not only it is invaluable for new artists to learn from but
already I have seen some of the artists who were testing Painter using it to create fun animations.

April Fools

Hello..
My mood to work on art during this month is very peaked. However it's not so good since i'm quite busy in real life. Some of my painting not well finished since i'm rushing in my painting. Dividing the time was a very difficult thing for me in doing on my creation. Some of my painting reference on photo and mostly based on my imagination and entepretation on materials. All painting during April 2011 done in Smallworlds Graffiti board. Basically, i'd like to apply some watercolor technique in my digital painting. Low opacity on color stroke guide me to produce watercolor effects on digital board. That's true..most of my works looks a bit pale in color scheme. Here are my compilation through this month.

Monochromatic Painting

Here are my recent painting on FB Graffiti.  It's an attemption on realism painting by photo reference. I think i'm failed doing on realism genre. It's hard to get perfect finishing while playing on opacity. I need to do more practice on this genre. It's hard for me to get real figure as reference pic shown.

FB Graffiti

Here some painting by me for FB Graffiti
done @ 5.00 a.m 20 Feb 2011
Yes..this is from reference pic. But i'm trying to convert it into my interpretation since i'm not mastering in realism art. In fact, i'm prefer not too playing safe with colour stroke and just hit the mouse to paint as i want besides i don't want it looks same like reference pic cause it will hide my trademark on painting.

done  @ 3.45 p.m 17 Jan 2011

Refer on google image also. I need to do more practise on color scheme. Some of my friends suggested to use colour generator, but i still failed on that. Idk, why i'm still painting through from my instict and not following exactly as pic figure. For me, there's to be sincere on every creation.

done in 2009
I painted this early on my biginning on FB Graffiti. It's origanally my work without any reference. It just basic colour on painting that i'm used.

Virtual Underbelly Project

Underbelly Project in New York subway station

Underbelly Project was started in New York City. The Underbelly Project has brought more than 100 artists to an abandoned and half-finished New York City subway station. Each artist was given one night to paint something. The duty of the street artist shall be to create art taking risks, pushing boundaries and exploring territories so that the more risk averse among us may vicariously thrill and admire.

Smallworlds Underbelly Project
Did you know Underbelly Project has also been created in the virtual worldIt sounds a bit ridiculous .. but the fact that it really exists.Smallworlds Underbelly Project are inspired by Kota Phillips in Smallworlds. This project is a continuation of Underbelly Project in New York City. Even though it is virtual, but the commitment of this project is amazing and challenging. We produce work silently in the absence of others before the tunnel was opened to the public.

FYI, this virtual project can only be found in Smallworlds. I was also given the opportunity to scribbling on the walls of this virtual project. Indeed it provides a new experience to me.

*bravo all Smallworlds Underbelly Project Artist make this happen*

An Attempt @Pop Art

Andy Warhol may be regarded as the founder of Pop Art. His works have considered the emergence of modern art at the beginning of pop art. He is not excessive in such a high lift, but we also do not forget about Pablo Picasso which could also be said as a pioneer in this field.

As admiring the works of several artists of pop art, I also make little attempt to explore the work of pop art simply meet the existing interests of the art. However, I have tried to highlight the work that is not manipulated through digitalphotography, but through digital paintings. For a start, I painted the background image for this blogIndeed, work by pop art is not getting tired, but captivating.
